Heck, they even did not exclude their own cache files from Time Machine backup! The dude(s) that write client IMO have no idea how macOS works or don't care, apparently. As a result, my photos and videos were queued behind this garbage and competed for upload bandwidth. It was getting picked up on every backup because it constantly changes, but it's 100% trash. The issue is compounded by the lack of TM exclusions (for example, my "Envelope Index" in Mail (this is the volatile index of all emails) is about 1GB. Configuring hourly backups and hoping that your data is safe is therefore misleading. Next, but related - the design of (at least the macOS) client makes is that large files can stay in queue for up to 48 hours before being uploaded. If this is not a definition of abandonware - I don't know what is. Now it has been 2 years since - at still not done (as of few months ago). I then was told "it seems easy to implement" and should be done shortly. I pointed out that I did, 1 year prior, gave ticket number, and it went nowhere still. I was told that I should have reported that. I pointed out the old exclusion list and lack of support for TM exclusions. In other words, the metric they used optimized their infrastructure usage, not necessarily macOS user experience. BB responded that it's pretty much alive, and they did some analysis and excluded most frequent offenders. The fact that they don't support Time Machine exclusions is separately mind-boggling. This results in a lot of trash data being picked up every backup that wastes bandwidth and storage, and delays upload of important data. It started with me questioning whether the macOS version of the Personal backup was abandonware - judging by the list of exclusions that reflected state of macOS 8 years ago and lack of TM exclusions support.I could not find it right away either, but here is the summary: Do you have a link to your previous post? You have many.
